When an oxygen concentrator stops working, it can feel pretty stressful. Luckily, at Energy Workers Medical Services, we can help alleviate some of that stress. Depending on the manufacturer, warranty time frames for concentrators vary from 1 to 5 years.
EWMS offers a complimentary service that allows you to borrow one of our units during the time that your personal concentrator or portable unit is getting repaired. If your unit starts to act up, contact our warranty specialist immediately so that we can help you fix it as soon as possible.
Before you call, it is important to have all of the information readily available.
- Name of patient
- Best contact information
- Make and Model of the concentrator
- Serial number
- If a loaner unit will be required, and what liter flow is needed
- A description of the issues you are experiencing
Our warranty specialist will be happy to walk you through every step of the way and keep you as updated as possible during this process. Once the process has started, it will take up to 4 weeks for your personal oxygen unit to be fixed and back home. If it is your portable concentrator that is being serviced, DO NOT send the battery or the backpack in with the unit. You keep your battery and backpack until your unit comes back.
There are two ways to start this process; simply call our office at (801) 841-4490, or go to our website https://www.ewmsmedical.com/forms/warranty and filling out the needed information, to receive a call back with steps that are needed.
While oxygen machines can be finicky from time to time, there are things you can do to avoid needing repairs. Be sure to keep your machine in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Wash the filter with tap water weekly and ensure that you are changing your cannulas every 2 weeks.
